THE NEW POISONOUS DRUG OF THE CENTURY

The arrival of 21st century has seen the coming up of the Digital Revolution, in the package also came a poisonous disease, a disease that kills both the body and the soul, that is playing a major role in destroying the family, that has corrupted the minds of youth.

It is about time we stop ignoring the ELEPHANT in the room and start addressing the problem of pornography & try to solve the problem of this spreading cancer.

Allah says in the Holy Quran:

“He Who created Death and Life, that He may test which of you is best in deed: and He is the Exalted in Might, Oft-Forgiving” [Al-Mulk, 67:2]

And one of the greatest test Allah placed in Man is the desire of the opposite gender as Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said:

“I have not left behind me any fitnah (temptation) more harmful to men than women.” Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 5096; Muslim, 2740.

We have entered the hyper-sexualized century , in which acts of indecency & nudity are just considered as modern and normal , in which pornography is seen everywhere even in Newspapers, Advertising etc.

The new generation literally FEEDS on pornography; here are some authentic statistics to blow up your mind:

25% of  requests on search engines (68 million daily pornographic searches )
35% of downloads are related to pornography.
2.5 billion Emails sent or received every day contain porn.
Every 39 minutes a new pornography video is being created in the United States
Pornography is a $12-$13 billion- a-year industry – more than the combined annual revenues of the Coca-Cola & Mac Doneels!!
42.7% of internet users have viewed pornography.
Over 30% of sites on the World Wide Web are pornographic(4.2 million website )
The first exposure to pornography among men is 12 years old, on average.
$3,075.64 is spent on pornography every second
28,258 people are viewing pornography every second.
The time we come across this statistics we think there are not & there cannot be many Muslims involved among the viewers, but the sad reality is Muslims are on the LEAD.

Checkout what Wikipedia has to say?

“Google, the world’s most popular Internet search engine, has found in a survey that mostly Muslim states seek access to sex-related websites and Pakistan tops the list. Google found that of the top 8 countries – searching for sex-related sites – SIX were MUSLIM, with Pakistan on the top. The other Muslim countries are Egypt at number 2, Iran at 4, Morocco at 5, Saudi Arabia at 7 and Turkey at 8.”

(Following countries are also highest in Bestiality related searches)

Some more stats:

Arabic is the 2nd most common language that is used to search for porn.
Despite strict controls in KSA, a study in Saudi Arabia focusing on teenager’s mobile phones showed that up to 70% of files exchanged between phones contained pornography.
This evil has spread wild among the Muslim youth as small as 7, it has reached everywhere.

The spread is alarming.

The reason for this alarming growth in viewers is due to the addiction caused by pornography …..Yes ADDICTION, Addiction worse than that of Cocaine.

While cocaine is harder to acquire, expensive and poses risks, Porn addiction sustains on Availability, Affordability & Anonymity for the user, it releases the same chemicals in the brain as drugs.

THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS IN A NUT SHELL (THE SCIENCE)

The brain has a reward pathway which is responsible for a man becoming happy & gaining pleasure, like a person enjoys his favorite flavor of ice cream.

As the person is initially exposed in his early years to pornography, his brain release abnormally huge quantities of dopamine.

Both having sex and watching porn causes dopamine, the neurotransmitter responsible for reward and pleasure, to be released.

But repeatedly causing this surge in dopamine – by regularly watching pornography – means the brain become desensitized to its effects & thus greater, more vulgar and in most cases more violent stimuli are needed to attain the same amount of pleasure. This cycle continues and the person has already unknowingly become addicted this filthy drug.

The rush of brain chemicals happening over and over again rewires the brain’s reward pathway ultimately changing the makeup of the viewer’s brain. This results in an increased appetite for porn.

IN FEW WORDS THE REWARD Pathway is hijacked.

Some of the consequences of this hijack include (These aren’t just claims but facts backed with solid researches)   :

It creates emotional bond with artificial world.
Hormonal imbalance
Causes erectile dysfunction
Anger & Frustration
Drained out & Lethargy
Lack of satisfaction from the real world.
Increases marital infidelity by 300%
Increases sexual appetite & loss of control on the self
Waste of hours of life
A study published in JAMA Psychiatry in 2014 found regularly viewing pornography seemed to dull the response to sexual stimulation over time.
Women began to be seen as an object.
And the most important of the consequences for a believer is certainly gaining the displeasure of Allah.

Allah says in the Quran:

“And tell the believing women to lower their gaze (from looking at forbidden things), and protect their private parts (from illegal sexual acts)”[al-Noor 24:31]

This is the Zina of the Eye (Bukhaari, 5889; Muslim, 2657)

Controlling the desires has been ordained in the Quran and the Hadith,

Prophet Muhammad, Allah bless him and give him peace, said in authentic narrations:

“Whoever can promise me what is between their lips and what is between their thighs I will promise for them paradise.” [Sahih Muslim]
“The Paradise is surrounded by hardships and the Hell-Fire is surrounded by temptations.” (Sahih Muslim)
Controlling the desires is an important part of attaining Taqwa and righteousness.

Two sayings Imam Ghazali expound on these Hadith

“Half of Shaytans Army is Desire and Other Half is Anger”
Thus by controlling the desire you overpower half of Shaytans army.

“Whenever man falls prey to lust, he sinks to the lowest of the low and joins the animal herd. Whenever he curbs his desires, he ascends to the highest of the high and attains the angelic level.”
-Imam al-Ghazali [Inner Dimensions of Islamic Worship]

Look at the people addicted and high in desires: don’t they commit acts even which animals feel ashamed to commit?

Ibn Taimiyyah, may Allah have mercy on him, said: “The effects that lust has on a person, such as loss of intellect and knowledge, corruption of manners and religion, and being busied by it leading to neglect of religious and worldly benefits, are far more than the positive [effects of lust].

Fellow Believers look at the Pros and Cons , Advantages & Disadvantages of this poisonous honey , which may give pleasure for a blink of an eye , but its effects last for a lifetime , rather which shall be seen even on the Day of Judgment.

Realize that the pleasure it gives lasts for few seconds while the pain is forever.

Allah has said in the Quran “their hearing and their eyes and their skins will testify against them of what they used to do” (Quran 41:20)

And He said:

“On the Day when their tongues, their hands, and their feet will bear witness against them as to their actions” (Quran 24:24)

Just imagine yourself standing in front of your Lord, the Most Gracious and your own body, your own tongue, your own hands and feet giving witness against you, against your own deeds.

Having seen the ill effects, pornography has on the physical, social, spiritual well being of the individual and society, it is about time the masses are educated on this issue that is so rampant that I must say at least 1 in 3 persons reading this article must have experienced this problem at least once in their lifetime.

We need individuals to rise from the Ummah & from the intellectual and scholarly communities, who are well versed in both the knowledge of the religion and the sciences of Human Psychiatry as this is not just a problem of the soul but also of the mind.

The 1st step against this problem is educating ourselves and the masses about the harmful effects caused to the body and the soul which will encourage us to think about the solutions.

Most important thing to do is to ask Allah to keep us and our dear ones away from this evil.

The solution to this problem deserves a separate detailed article to be written.

But certainly there is a light at the end of the tunnel for those affected by this disease

Verily we have wronged ourselves and our sins are enormous, but remember the Mercy and Forgiveness of our Lord is far greater.

Allah says:

“And those who, when they have committed Fahishah (illegal sexual intercourse etc.) or wronged themselves with evil, remember Allah and ask forgiveness for their sins; – and none can forgive sins but Allah – and do not persist in what (wrong) they have done, while they know”( Quran 3:135)

Allah says to His slaves who sinned: “Say,

“O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by committing sins], do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful.” (Quran 39:53)

May Allah SWT protect us from this evil and help those involved in it to free themselves.

Benefits Of Marriage

Question: What are the Benefits of Marriage in Islam?
Here is a 10 benefits of marriage in Islam.

10 benefits of Marriage in Islam

Islam has various reasons to urge marriage such as its benefits in safeguarding one’s Faith and also because it is the only and an essential element in the proper and righteous upbringing of children and upspring. Marriage in Islam plays a major role in protecting a Muslim from the sins of adultery, masturbation and homosexuality. Marriage takes away the possibility of all evils and sins because after marriage a Muslim is supposed to engage himself with a life sharing partner he has married and vice versa.

Marriage is the Sunnah of our Noble Prophet (PBUH), as well as of the previous Noble Prophets (AS). As the statement of Allah, the Originator, the High is:

“And indeed We sent Messengers before you (O Muhammad SAW), and made for them wives and offspring” (Ar-Rad 13:38).

Marriage linguistically means to unite and to bring together. The real literal meaning of marriage is to have sexual intercourse; and the metaphorical meaning of marriage is the bond of marriage.

The Muslim scholars defined marriage through various definitions, and one of these is:

“Marriage is such a bond from which the act of sexual intercourse becomes lawful.”

One who has adequate means to maintain a family should marry. Marrying ensures modesty and chastity which is vital for a healthy social life.

Islam prescribes matters that contain good benefits both in this world and in the Hereafter and among the greatest benefits of marriage are the following:

1.
Obeying the Prophet (PBUH) and carrying out his Sunnah, because the Prophet (PBUH) said:

“O young people! Whoever among you is able to marry, should marry.” (Al-Bukhari 5065).

2.
Marriage guarantees physical and spiritual chastity and peace of a person and keeps the couple away from the pitfalls and temptations of the Satan. Chastity is one of the praise-worthy attributes of the believers as Allah (SWT) mentioned it in the following verse:
“And those who guard their chastity (i.e. private parts, from illegal sexual acts)” (Al-Muminun 23:5).

3.
Through marriage the couples achieve mutual affection, mercy and love. Allah (SWT) says:
“And He has put between you affection and mercy” (Ar-Rum 30:21).

4.
Through marriage the couple will have righteous offspring. It is the survival of generation and it results in obtaining great and good rewards by having righteous children. Having righteous children or upbringing them on the principle of the Islamic Shariah may, however, be considered among the best form of charity as the Prophet (PBUH) said:
“When a person dies his deeds discontinue, except for three things: Ongoing charity, knowledge which people benefit from, and a righteous son who prays for him.” (Muslim 1631).

5.
Marriage is the mean of receiving great rewards for both couples through spending on their children, guarding their chastity, helping them in their problems, protecting them from harms and difficulties and treating them with kindness as the Prophet (PBUH) said:
“No man earns anything better than that which he earns with his own hands, and what a man spends on himself, his wife, his child and his servant then it is charity.” (Ibn Majah 2138).

To avoid spending on one’s wife and children is miserliness and stinginess which is condemnable. But to keep fulfilling unreasonable legal and illegal needs of the family is also extravagance and squandering, which are both disliked.

6.
The couples also will gain good rewards through having children, upbringing them in accordance with the Islamic teachings, being patient while educating them and making them ones who will call others to the true religion of Islam.

7.
Through marriage Allah (SWT) will enrich the couples and will bless their livelihood. Allah (SWT) says:
“And marry those among you who are single (i.e. a man who has no wife and the woman who has no husband) and (also marry) the Salihun (pious, fit and capable ones) of your (male) slaves and maid-servants (female slaves). If they be poor, Allah will enrich them out of His Bounty. And Allah is All-Sufficient for His creatures’ needs, All-Knowing (about the state of the people).” (An-Nur 24:32).

8.
By marrying and fulfilling the rights of the husband, the believing woman will enter Paradise.

9.
By having righteous children, the couples will receive good and great rewards in this world and after their death, because righteous children are ongoing charity.

10.
A righteous wife is the better provision of this world. The Prophet (PBUH) said:
“This world is but provision, and there is no provision in this world better than a righteous wife.” (Muslim 1469).

The righteous wife is a great favor, because she proves to be a good advisor in worldly matters; she is a good life partner and she assists her husband in matters of the Hereafter; thus both achieve high ranks. On the other hand, the righteous husband is a great favor for the wife too.

In short, the greatest benefit of marriage is protection against a sinful life and the fulfillment of sexual desire through lawful means. This great benefit is the main objective of marriage and should be focused upon at the time of marriage; other benefits will then be achieved thereafter.

Domestic Violence and its Prohibition in Islam

Family or domestic violence is one of the global issue, which unfortunately can be found almost in every family. This destructive issue has ruined numerous and various lives and caused most painful and miserable situations for many families too.  The teachings from the Holy Quran and Sunnah of the Prophet (PBUH) addressed this issue and indicated the bad consequences of this destructive issue and exhorted the Muslims to hold mutual mercy, forgiveness and to ignore the minor mistakes between the spouses as much as possible.  These teachings also urged on doing good deeds and treating the members of a household in good manner.

Allah (SWT) commanded us in His Glorious Book to treat and live honorably with our wives, to shun all types of violence and to overlook their minor faults. He says:

“And live with them honourably. If you dislike them, it may be that you dislike a thing and Allah brings through it a great deal of good.” (An-Nisa 4:19).

This verse clearly indicates that wives should be treated kindly by saying mild words to them and making one’s appearance appealing for them as much as one can just as he likes the same from them. It also invalidates all kinds of violence, such as beating them and depriving them from their due rights.

In a house where a husband and wife live in love and with peace, and care for each other, prosperity comes to that home. It is not deemed proper to get annoyed with minor things. Forgiving and overlooking the small mistakes of each other makes the home a lovable place to live in.

The Prophet (PBUH) said:

“No believing man should hate a believing woman. If he dislikes one of her characteristics, he may be pleased with another.” (Muslim 1167).

This Hadith reminds all husbands to be nice to their wives, for a believing husband should not dislike his spouse for minor faults and misconducts. Rather, he is advised to regard highly and appreciate her excellent manners and behaviors that may well be much more than the bad ones. Therefore, the Prophet (PBUH) also said:

“Indeed I order you to be good and kind to the women.” (At-Tirmidhi 1163).

Besides the obligatory rights of providing the daily and essential needs of wife such as: food, clothes and accommodation the husband has the authority to give an appropriate admonishment to the wife for her mistakes. Islam also forbids the husband from striking the face of her wife and disfiguring her. The Prophet (PBUH) said:

“The husband should feed her as he feeds himself and clothe her as he clothes himself; he should not strike her on the face nor disfigure her, and he should not abandon her except in the house (as a form of discipline).” (Ibn Majah 1850).

It is also forbidden for a wife to annoy her husband and the Prophet (PBUH) threaten the wife who annoys her husband.  He (PBUH) said: No woman annoys her husband in this world except that his wife among the Al-Huril-Ain says: “Do not annoy him, may Allah destroy you, he is only like a guest with you, soon he will part from you for us.”

It is not appropriate for a husband to keep the household atmosphere formal and strict all the time; having a good sense of humor with the wife and children, and trying to amuse them, is not contrary to the status of righteousness.

Our beloved Prophet (PBUH) also admonished and exhorted us concerning the women by saying: how long will one of you whip his wife like a slave, then lie with her at the end of the day?

The rebuke to women for a mistake is necessary but it should be only verbal and with kind words of admonishment; if she is very careless and defiantly disobedient, then the husband should get angry; this punishment is enough.

In this day and age, domestic violence against women always remains a great concern in all societies. It is a serious problem that affects people from all walks of our life regardless of socio-economic stature, age and religion. It appears in various forms, which effects the entire society.

According to the above-mentioned Verses of the Holy Quran and the Sayings of the beloved Prophet (PBUH), wife beating or striking her face is certainly prohibited.

We pray Allah to make us from those who overlook the minor faults and mistakes of our life partners and forgive their shortcomings. Ameen!

Welcome The Month of Ramadan

9 ways to welcome the month of Ramadan (Ramzan): 1. Revising the intention: One should revise his/her intention before the coming of... thumbnail 1 summary
9 ways to welcome the month of Ramadan (Ramzan):

1. Revising the intention:

One should revise his/her intention before the coming of Ramadan. Intention is the main origin in all deeds. It is a standard by which deeds are accepted or rejected. If the intention is pure, Allah (SWT) will accept the deeds. And if it is corrupt, then the deeds will be rejected. The Prophet (PBUH) said:

“Actions are but by intention and every man will have but that which he intended.” (Al-Bukhari: 1)

The intention is a deed of heart, uttering it by the tongue is not compulsory. For example, the words of intention that are pronounced before prayers or fasting, which are common among people, have no evidence in authentic Hadith; so they are innovations.

2. Repenting from sins:

Ramadan is a great opportunity for us to return in repentance to our Supreme Lord, because people are released from Hell on every night during this month and it is a special honor of Ramadan. After repentance for sins, every person is able to secure this honor. The Prophet (PBUH) said:

“And a caller cries out: ‘O seeker of good, proceed, O seeker of evil, stop.’ And Allah has necks (people) whom He frees (from the Fire) and that happens every day. ” (At-Tirmidhi: 682).

3. Hoping for reward:

As a Muslim, one should hope for reward while doing good deeds. A believer always hopes to enter Paradise while doing good deeds. Being sincere in good deeds one must hope for their rewards from Allah (SWT) and the only hope of a believer is to enter Paradise. The Prophet (PBUH) said:

“Whoever fasts Ramadan out of faith and in the hope of reward, his previous sins will be forgiven.” (Muslim: 760).

4. Providing food for a fasting person to break his fast:

Making arrangements for a fasting person to break his/her fast is a great virtue. Many Ahadith are reported concerning this. In Ahadiths it’s said that the providing food and drink to the people observing fast is not necessary, if one does so, it will have extra reward but that must be done according to one’s capability and with good intentions. The provider will get full reward as the one who fasts. The Prophet (PBUH) said:

“Whoever provides the food for a fasting person to break his fast with, then for him is the same reward as his (the fasting person’s), without anything being diminished from the reward of the fasting person.” (At-Tirmidhi: 807).

5. Reciting the Holy Quran:

Quran is the book of guidance for believers. As Muslims, we all know the status of Quran and its recitation. From authentic Ahadith we know that reciting the Glorious Quran has countless rewards. Quran has even more of an important significance and rewards in the blessed month of Ramadan, the month of fasting. Quran will intercede for those who recite it on the Day of Resurrection. The Prophet (PBUH) said:

“Recite the Quran, for it will come on the Day of Resurrection interceding for its companions.” (Muslim: 804).

Jibril (AS) used to meet the Prophet (PBUH) every year in Ramadan until it ended, and the Messenger (PBUH) would recite the Quran to him. The predecessors of this Ummah would recite the Holy Quran constantly during Ramadan. They used to recite the whole Quran in three days in the first twenty days of Ramadan and in one day during the last ten days of this month.

Therefore, it is the month of Quran. We should recite Quran as much as we can in this noble month as it is important for the one who fasts to recite it as much as he/she can during these blessed days and honorable nights.

6. Avoiding backbiting, slandering and vain talk:

A Muslim, as a rule, is commanded to refrain from things like vulgar and obscene talk and other activities of the Days of Ignorance. And when he is fasting, it is more important that he observe abstinence from all evil activities in all circumstances. Rather than engaging in disputes, he is advised to plainly declare to his opponent that he is fasting, so that all doors to any bad conduct are shut. The Prophet (PBUH) said:

“If one does not avoid speaking Zur, and acting upon it, Allah is in no need of him abstaining from his food and his drink.” (Al-Bukhari: 1903).

The word Zur in the hadith means, all types of false and vain talk. It is a talk of disbelief, false witness, false accusation, backbiting, telling lies, slandering, swearing, cursing and false criticism, nevertheless it includes all types of disobedience and sins.

7. Avoiding much sleep and food:

Islam is a natural religion (a religion towards Fitrah) based on moderation, middle course, and away from excessiveness. Therefore, it urges to eat and drink normally. One should not exceed the limits. Eating too much causes much sleep which results in abundance of worship and achieving great rewards. Moreover, a Muslim should not sleep, eat and drink a lot to deprive himself from such great opportunity.

8. Praying Taraweeh (Voluntary Night Prayer) During Ramadan:

Voluntary night prayer during any time of the year is recommended and merits great rewards from Allah (SWT), even so during Ramadan. The Prophet (PBUH) said:

“Whoever stands (in prayer) during Ramadan, having faith and expecting his reward (from Allah), he will have all his previous sins forgiven.” (Abu Dawud: 1371).

Moreover, the Prophet (PBUH) said:

“Whoever stands with the Imam until he finishes, it is equivalent to spending the whole night in prayer.” (Ibn Majah: 1327).

9. Knowing the importance of last ten days and nights of Ramadan:

There should be more than usual emphasis on performing the acts of worship and devotion during the last ten (or nine) days of Ramadan. Last ten days and nights of Ramadan have a unique importance in Islam.

It has more virtues and significance especially the odd nights i.e. 21, 23, 25, 27, 29. These odd nights include the Night of Decree according to Qur’an and Sunnah. Worshipping in this night is better than a thousand months and whoever spends Laitlat Al-Qadr (the Night of Decree) in prayer out of faith and in the hope of reward, his previous sins will be forgiven.

Conclusion:

In short, Ramadan is a guest that should be respected. It is the important opportunity for us to benefit ourselves from it. We should do all kinds of good deeds with faith and hope of reward. With utmost sincerity and conformity to the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (PBUH), our fasting, night prayers and good deeds shall have more chances of inviting Allah’s pleasure in forgiving our sins.

May Allah make us from those who avail this opportunity and do all types of good deeds in faith and hope for reward. Ameen!

7 Ways to Increase your Wealth and Sustenance

The life of a Muslim is always combined with hardships and injustice. Therefore, you should believe that the Exalted Lord predetermined your sustenance when you were an embryo in your beloved mother’s womb.

There are many people who think that if they hold fast to their religion (Islam) and carry out its commandments, they will never be successful and prosper. This is an evil thought and misconception about their Lord and religion. May Allah protect us from such evil beliefs.

There are various and numerous ways that are a means for increasing our sustenance. Such means cannot be fulfilled or happen to any of us with weak faith in Allah (SWT). As Muslims, we all should have a strong and firm faith in our Lord, His beloved Prophet (PBUH), in the text that is in the Book of Allah and Sunnah of the Prophet (PBUH) and the promises that made by Allah and His Messenger (PBUH).

Among the many ways that increase our wealth and sustenance are the following 7 best:

1: Asking Allah’s forgiveness:

Allah (SWT) says:

“I said (to them): ‘Ask forgiveness from your Lord; Verily, He is Oft-Forgiving; He will send rain to you in abundance; and give you increase in wealth and children, and bestow on you gardens and bestow on you rivers.” (Nuh 71:10-12).

Obviously, if we repent to Allah, seek His forgiveness and obey Him, He will increase our provisions for us and provide us with water from the blessings of the sky. He will cause the blessings of the earth and crops to grow for us and increase our livestock animals for us and give us more wealth, children, and gardens with various types of fruits. He will cause rivers to flow among these gardens. To make it possible we truly need to repent to Him and seek His forgiveness.

2: Keeping the ties of kinship:

The Prophet (PBUH) said:

“Whoever is pleased that he be granted more wealth and that his lease of life is prolonged, then he should keep good relations with his kith and kin.” (Al-Bukhari 5985).

3: Worshipping Allah (SWT):

The Prophet (PBUH) said:

“Indeed Allah, Most High, said: ‘O son of Adam! Devote yourself to My worship, I will fill your chest with riches and alleviate your poverty. And if you do not do so, then I will fill your hands with problems and not alleviate your poverty.” (At-Tirmidhi: 2466).

If a person engages himself in worshipping his Lord and in fulfilling of His commands, Allah grants him contentment and exemption from wants and drives poverty and need away from him.

In case the person is heedless of Allah’s commands and neglects His worship, Allah deprives him of the wealth of contentment and fills the heart with materialism and greed, and robs him of the tranquility and peace of mind. Moreover, a Muslim should give great importance to daily worship.

4: Putting trust in Allah:

The Prophet (PBUH) said:

“If you were to rely upon Allah with the required reliance, then He would provide for you just as the bird is provided for, it goes out in the morning empty, and returns full.” (At-Tirmidhi 2344).

Putting trust in Allah (SWT) does not mean that one should set at home aimlessly, he should engage himself earning his livelihood through lawful means, and then leave the result to Allah. This is exactly what the birds do. They go out of their nests early in the morning in search of food and pick it from wherever they possibly can and, at the end of the day, return to their nests with their bellies full of food.  They never sit in their nests waiting for their foods and drinks to drop from the heaven.

5: Performing Hajj and Umrah consecutively:

In common, people only understand that performing Hajj or Umrah expiates and removes sins, but it is also considered as spending in the way of Allah. Hence, they flourish one’s wealth and he gets rid of poverty and neediness.

The Prophet (PBUH) said:

“Alternate between Hajj and Umrah; for these two remove poverty and sins just as the bellows removes filth from iron, gold, and silver.” (At-Tirmidhi 810).

6: Spending money in Allah’s way:

Whatever we spend in the ways that Allah (SWT) has commanded and permitted us, He will compensate us for it in this world by giving us something else instead and in the Hereafter by giving us rewards.

Allah (SWT) says:

“And whatsoever you spend of anything (in Allah’s Cause), He will replace it. And He is the Best of providers.” (Saba 34:39).

And the Prophet (PBUH) said:

“Allah said: ‘O son of Adam! Spend, and I shall spend on you.’” (Al-Bukhari 5352).

7: Being kind and charitable to the needy Muslims:

Allah, the highest and Exalted, wishes to provide subsistence to those weak and feeble folks and desires to do well to them. But since they are dependent on us in some ways, Allah (SWT) also provides subsistence to us in order to provide subsistence to them.

The Prophet (PBUH) said:

“Seek your weak for me. For indeed your sustenance and aid is only by your weak.” (At-Tirmidhi 1702).

Weak and downtrodden are those that, although less privileged in material prosperity and worldly glory, are honorable to Allah, thanks to the strength of their faith and the purity of their hearts. When they pray, they pray with full sincerity for the victory of the believers.

Allah, therefore, accepts their sincere petitions and devoted supplications and grants victory to the Muslims that bring in its wake the spoils of war, which has been made the sustenance of the believers.

The above-mentioned ways are the easy ones that one can fulfill them. Carrying them out in our daily life can bring success and prosperity both in this worldly life and in the Hereafter.

Is Religion an Inheritance?

Freedom was a basic standard upon which the Islamic State (during the lifetime of the Prophet and rightly-guided Caliphs) was established. It was the responsibility of the Islamic government to ensure all types of freedoms for all people, as long as such freedoms do not contradict the teachings of the Holy Quran and the Sunnah of the beloved Prophet (PBUH).

While Islam gave people the right to choose their own Religion – a freedom, which was not in those times ensured to the citizens of non-Muslim nations – it invited individuals to attain and secure the most vital freedom of all: It encouraged them to release their own selves from the shackles of slavery to all people, and be the true slaves of their True Lord by worshipping Him sincerely.

By ransoming oneself from the chains of polytheism, one not any longer concerns about pleasing others, causing them to be angry, winning respect and gratitude of others or achieving their love.

By freeing oneself from polytheism, he starts loving his True Lord and pleasing Him. Even any true Muslim or believer attempts to please any of his Muslim fellows, he does so particularly intending to please Allah (SWT), as a result he perceives, for example, that his Lord orders him to be kind and gentle to others.

The Islamic concept of freedom is frequently confused with some other concepts, like the mutual consultation, justice, equality, and mercy. It is due to each of these concepts – which are especially encouraged by Islam- cannot be recognized and achieved without the existence of freedom.

This vital standard of freedom assisted the rightly-guided Caliphs in spreading Islam. When the True Religion, Islam prevailed to neighboring lands of Arabian Peninsula, the individuals of such lands were amazed to witness the standard to which this True Religion respects human kinds and secures their freedom. Therefore, it was not difficult to satisfy them to quit their false religion and to embrace in its place the True Religion of Islam.

The Islamic State was established on the basis of equality, justice, and freedom, on the other hand, the two main superpowers of that time – the Roman and Persian Empires – were founded on the principles of tyranny, oppression and barbarism. The individuals in such lands were politically considered refugees and religiously weak and minorities; they forcibly endured all types of tyranny and persecutions of such Empires.

For instance, the Roman Empire forced the supporters of the Yaqubi sect – particularly those who lived in Egypt and Syria and their surrounding areas – to become followers of the Milkani sect, which was formally promoted sect of the existing state.

In such non-Muslim countries, it was common for religious minorities to face persecutions, and though some of them were killed for their beliefs. Many people were burned alive due to their Faith, while others were put into bags that were also filled with sand, then were cast into the depths of the sea. Such methods of barbarism were used by rulers and leaders of the Roman Empire.

As for the Persian Empire, with the long passage of its existence, their rulers were also known for their barbarism and oppression in persecuting the adherents of divinely-revealed Religions, exclusively Christians.

On the contrary, in the Islamic State, the situation was totally opposite: All people were treated equally and given all of their due rights, because of which they were able to believe and follow the Religion of their own choice.

Therefore, Islam does not allow the states established on its principles or any Muslim to force non-Muslims to embrace this True Religion. Allah (SWT) says in His Noble Book:

“There is no compulsion in religion. Verily, the Right Path has become distinct from the wrong path.” (Al-Baqarah 2:256).

In fact, the above-mentioned verse confirms, that Muslims are commanded to allow people to decide for themselves what Religion they want to follow and that is the reality of Islam.

The religion Islam is plain and clear, and its proofs and evidence are plain and clear too. Therefore, there is no need to force anyone to embrace Islam. Rather, whoever Allah directs to Islam, opens his heart for it and enlightens his mind, will embrace Islam with certainty. Whoever Allah blinds his heart and seals his hearing and sight, then he will not benefit from being forced to embrace Islam.

Hadit about Consistency in doing Good Deeds

'A'isha reported Allah's Messenger (PBUH) as saying: The acts most pleasing to Allah are those which are done continuously, even if they are small. And when 'A'isha did any act she did it continuously.

Hadith about Virtue of Patience

Abu Malik at-Ash'ari reported: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: “Cleanliness is half of faith and al-Hamdu Liliah (Praise be to Allah) fills the scale, and Subhan Allah (Glory be to Allah) and al-Hamdu Liliah (Praise be to Allah) fill up what is between the heavens and the earth, and prayer is light, and charity is proof (of one's faith) and Patience is illumination and the Holy Qur'an is evidence for you or against you. All people go out early in the morning and sell themselves, either freeing themselves or condemning themselves.”
