It is a district near Peshawar Pakistan Called Arablandaye.
Here resides a Mechanic named Qazi Sajjad, Who on the whims of his passions built a Plane.
How did he do this.
Lets Find out..
He said, In 1978 I saw a small plane in a James Bond film. I Was Inspired to make my own.
I started by making a model plane with bamboo and paper, then i continued to develop that model.
Then we motorized it, progressing to a power takeoff. To do that, we put a small engine in the plane,
but it didn't have enough strength or speed to get the plane off the ground.
That's when I decided to use a scrapped double cylinder Suzuki engine which I assembled myself.
Through trial and error I improved the design, and finally incorporated a three cylinder engine in the Plane.
After that, my brother Qazi Tufail went to Austria to get proper training and a license to operate the plane.
As the government pressurized us to legitimize our hobby.
From there, Qazi Tufail bought a Rootax engine which is specially designed for a plane like mine. Incorporating the Rotax engine really improved our flying.
Then my brother Qazi Farhad flew our first two-person flight, that day we were all really excited that two of us flew together. More he said,
This Plane is actually very useful, it can be used in the military, or as an agricultural plane to spray and fertilize the land. It can also be used in geological surveys, to control traffic and as an air ambulance, if a stretcher is attached here.
The police and army in Western countries use affordable planes like this all the time. During floods, this can also be very useful. It can be used to transport food and supplies to flood and natural disaster stricken areas.
We can attach floats instead of wheels at the bottom of this plane, so it can take off and land in water.
Youngsters are really attracted to this plane, they come by to see it. It is a very cheap and affordable plane.
Seeing this vehicle has inspired a lot of boys to join the Peshawar Flying Club to learn how to fly!
Qazi Sajjad told that for my engineering work I won the Tamgah-e-Imtiaz and my brother Qazi Tufail won a presidential Medal, recognizing his feat in breaking and setting a new record for flying at the altitude of 16000 ft above sea level, in all of Asia.
Qazi Tufail said: I have broken the Asian Record for flying twice during the Shandoor Polo Festival in 2006 and 2007. I plan to break the world record set at 25000 ft above sea level, by flying way above it and bringing more glory to Pakistan. During the spirit of swat festival, I participated with a flight display, I also flew Pakistan's flag behind our plane. The audience went wild, they really appreciated my effort. That moment inspired me to do great things for this nation. Things that would win us glory all over the World. Our Passion is Pakistan. Long live Pakistan.
